About the project

Development of a platform for the international font design competition "Modern Cyrillic Alphabet 2019".

The organizers of the competition are the Paratype company, a leading Russian manufacturer of digital fonts.

Fonts, typefaces and systems for text and/or accidental typing created and/or released from 2014 to 2019 were accepted for the competition.

The aim of the competition is to get the most objective idea of the current state of the Cyrillic alphabet and find the best examples of its development.

Tasks

Implement competitive mechanics for different user roles

To describe the essence of the contest and the rules concisely and in an accessible way

Reflect and reveal the "font" theme by means of animation

The key feature of the project is the impeccable frontend in working with variable and experimental fonts.

By means of font animation, we create an emphasis on the main elements on the site (buttons, headers, logo).

The external part of the site with information about the competition, stages, conditions, jury, etc.

Participant's personal account with extended registration and the ability to upload their work in various categories.

Personal account of the jury, evaluation of works according to 12 criteria, each criterion has its own weight.

At a certain stage of the competition, the audience voting is enabled.

A personal account of the selection committee with a division of rights, unique evaluation coefficients and the ability to evaluate works according to various criteria.
